**Bristol Legal Walk postponed until Autumn 2020**
Owing to latest government guidelines surrounding Coronavirus Covid 19, the SWLST have decided to postpone this event until Thursday 10th September at 6.00pm.
New date to be released in due course. For our latest news and updates surrounding our posititon on Coronavirus Covid 19, please click here.
Why do we walk?
The need for free legal advice centres has grown in the past few years. The recession has increased poverty and reduced support services. Meanwhile funding for the advice centres themselves has reduced.
The organisations we support:
Prevent families being made homeless
Help older people gain the support to which they are entitled
Help women and children who have been trafficked for domestic servitude or prostitution.
Why should you take part?
We simply can’t overcome the effects of the huge reduction in government and local authority funding over the past few years. What we can do is to ensure that many of the people most in need get help who would otherwise have been denied.
By taking part in the Bristol Legal Walk and seeking sponsorship from your friends, family and colleagues, you will be helping to secure vital funds needed for this important cause.
What will happen on the day?
Registration will be open at 5.30pm and we ask that all participants report to register before having a photograph taken with our lead walkers. Once this has been done you are ready to set off at 6pm on the 5km walk and we wish you the best of luck!
Starting point TBC We will be running a photography challenge and encourage you to enter by tweeting your photographs from the event @SouthWestLST using the hashtag #legalwalk.
The post-walk celebration will begin upon your arrival at the end venue and we would like to invite you to join us for a complementary drink to celebrate your enormous success!
